Один из основных количественных признаков кариотипа, равен диплоидному числу хромосом плюс число двуплечих хромосом (мета- и субметацентрических); иногда при определении Ч.х.п. двуплечими считают и субтелоцентрические хромосомы subtelocentric chromosome, применяя обозначение (NF).
